Nike Aims To Launch On Debuting ‘Back To The Future’ Shoes In 2015

Described as the "greatest shoe never made" by Nike CEO Mark Parker, the high-top designs that feature in the 1989 time-travel film is equipped with "power laces", which tighten on their own when feet are placed inside. This is no longer something to wish for , this is reality.
Nike filed a US Patent for self-lacing shoes in July 2014, featuring motorized rollers embedded in the soles. These would be activated by a control system that could either be operated using a button on the side or respond to changes in weight, wrapping the ends of the laces around themselves and creating a tightening effect.
Speaking at the AGENDA Emerge conference, Hatfield has already been saying that he and his team are hard to work on the Nike AG with Power Laces. Although he hasn’t stated, any release date. He only points out that they are still “11 and two-thirds months left in 2015” So it's likely we won't be seeing these till later in the year.
"The anticipation for this release is something that few understand," Matt Halfhill, publisher of NiceKicks, has told Mashable. "I don't even know if everyone at Nike realizes just how much demand there is for this shoe."

Nike has been teasing the release since 2011, when it has dropped a video promoting the self-lacing shoes. The company even files for a patent for the Power Lace technology. At the time, Nike auctioned off 1,500 pairs of the shoes with net proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which funds research to fight Parkinson's Disease. Fox, who stars in the BTF trilogy, suffers from that disease.
Hatfield first revealed Nike was developing Power Laces back in February 2014.
